Whenever I hit my brakes, my car pulls to the left. This happens regardless of what side of the road I'm on or how level it is. As long as I keep a grip on the steering wheel the car stays perfectly straight without me fighting it, but if I let go of the car, it goes left. Is it alignment? I hit crazy bumps around Boston, and I always have to go over railroad tracks.

Nah, I think it's my balls.
So, how would one go about checking to see if the caliper is stuck? Luckily I got a warranty for a long time through Ford (part of my court settlement on the flamey 94 GT). The seatbelts on the right side of my car are twisted to hell and I can't untwist 'em for the life of me, so I'm bringing the car to Ford soon anyway. Should I let them deal with this and probably be without my car for a few days (my mom's Explorer is always sitting in the driveway for me though), or is it something I can easily adjust myself?

I did some searching on www.corral.net. I didn't hear anyone saying they solved the problem, but from what I've found so far are suggestions including bleeding the brakes (does that mean draining brake fluid? I'm a re-re), and greasing the pins the brake caliper slides on. Uh...

bleeding brakes= draining all the fluid, and replacing it with new brake fluid, all while making sure the system never runs dry, and keeping air bubbles from forming in it...it's something I need to do on the Lincoln, but lazyness, and the fact that I don't know what I'm doing are holding me back. I don't know much about trying to grease the caliper pin
if youv'e got a warrenty, I'd just goto Ford and have them do it. (unless you want to learn how to do it yourself)

Sentry Ford continues to eat dick. They said seatbelts aren't covered under warranty. WHAT?!? I mean, isn't this a HUGE safety deal? Plus, they said if my pulling to the left problem involves the brakes it is not covered under warranty either. They'll check it out, and if it is brakes, I'm charged for it to be checked out and for the fix. If it isn't the brakes, then I'm not charged for anything. Now, it's not a big issue so I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on this. The seatbelts - I can just spend more than 10 minutes with them and probably straighten them myself. The pulling problem - as long as I have a finger on the wheel the car goes in a straight line, and my regular braking from high speeds is as good as it was the day I bought the car. I hate Sentry Ford with passion.

Thanks for the quick reply Yakbo. I tried doing more searches on Corral from several computers here at work, but they all return errors. Odd. I'd rather not bleed the brakes myself. I do have a friend who's a manager at a Jiffy Lube, so I'm sure they can do it if that's the problem. So, anyone know how to check out my calipers?

Take it to Stoneham Ford on Main St. in my town. Tell them that your friend John w/the Cougar sent you here cause you actually fix the problems. Definitly tell them you've been to Sentry L/M which is where I bought my car and they should understand.

The seatbelt isn't that hard to fix....just un-bolt if from the floor (there's probably a little piece of plastic covering the bolt) then un-twist it and then rebolt it/ put the plastic back.

Stoneham Ford jacks up prices like a mother fucker. The best dealer I've found in this area is Bonnell Ford in Winchester. They sell their shit at the lowest prices I've seen and their service is second to none. I've used them for all my Ford-related needs and the only time they failed me was when i wanted to have my 17x9 rims and 275/40/17 wheels put on--they told me their equipment wasn't the best to use for that size wheel. They could've done it, but they didn't want to risk tearing my tires. Regardless, they offered the lowest prices for a mount & balance anywhere--$40.
Bonnell even had a 2000 Cobra R, but sold it to some guy in Michigan or Minnesota or something (at MSRP even though he pre-ordered it).
Bonnell Ford is the best dealer in this area, I suggest you take it there.

Hey, Jackal, wasn't you car towed recently? They're supposed to tow rear-wheel drive cars from the rear-wheels so the front-wheels are the ones touching the ground. Perhaps that has something to do with you handling issues. The road they had to tow it from NU to Boston Towing isn't exactly the highest-quality strip of asphault I've ever seen.

No, this problem has been going on a lot longer than a week. Last week I had the car towed from the corner of Columbus Ave & Mass Ave to Allston, which is 3 miles. The road there isn't bad at all actually.
