Ok people...it's been too quiet the past few days. Are we still up for Saturday? Who's going and where are we meeting up?

Pfft..sucka, I ain't no moderator. I be yo' punk-ass ADMINISTRATOR. There ain't bein' none of dis moderation in my administration. Check yo' self! Take Exit 36 off of I-93 From the South: Remain in the center lane of the off-ramp. Turn left at the lights at the end of the off-ramp. Stay in the right lane as you drive under the 93 overpass, making sure NOT to bear right onto the on-ramp and end up on 93 South. At the next set of lights you will see a McDonald's on your left. The Spuds parking lot entrance is immediately after the lights on the right. From the North: Stay to your right on the off-ramp. Turn right. The Spuds entrance will be imediately on your right. -------------- I will be scouting out the route from Spuds to Sandy beach this evening, but would like to solicit Ruzman to write up some easy to follow directions from Spuds to Sandy Beach as he seems very familiar with the area. We will first be meeting at the Spuds lot and then cruising together to Sandy Beach in Winchester. In the interest of stragglers, everyone could benefit from Ruzman's knowledge of the area in the form of some directions. If not, I'll write some tonight before I pass out.

I assume we should plan on about 11. I'll be there at 10:30 and assume we'll be there until 11:30 or 11:45 before we cruise to sandy beach. I was in the area this evening and it looks like a very short drive, didn't get a chance to plot the route though . o it'll be done early tomorrow.

Here are the directions from Spuds to Sandy Beach for anyone who might be arriving late:
Take a right out of the Spuds parking lot. Stay to the left and take a left-turn at the first set of lights (you will see a Friendlies on the corner).
Set your trip odometer to zero at this intersection. The total distance from this point to Sandy Beach is 3.1 miles.
After 0.9 miles you will come to a set of lights with a "Ginger Bread Construction Company" on the corner. Drive straight through this intersection.
At 1.5 miles you will come to another set of lights that you will want to drive straight through.
At 1.9 miles a major intersection in downtown Winchester will come up. You want to bear left at this intersection towards the library (there will be a sign for it).
At 2.0 miles you will turn right at the immediately following set of lights.
At 2.1 miles you will drive straight through another set of lights.
Follow the road you are on through a set of blinking yellow lights until you reach the end where you will see a stop sign and wish to bear right.
This will take you under a railroad overpass.
You will see some "DO NOT ENTER" signs on your left.
Immediately after these signs take a left onto "MYSTIC VALLEY PARKWAY"
Sandy Beach will be on your right after a few tenths of a mile (total trip: 3.1 miles).

Damn Delhux, those are better directions than I can give ;D . I'll be at Spuds at 10:30 also to meet you there. One correction though if you are comming 93 North (from the Boston area) at the bottom of the exit 36 ramp stay in the center lane and take a LEFT at the lights and go under the overpass. If you take a right, you'll go past a Mobil station and end up on Main street in Stoneham!

Wow, thanks Ruz, I don't know how that one escaped me! Anyway, I've updated the original post with the driving instructions, so everyone can feel free to print that post without fear of my lousy directions screwing them up . See you there, and let's have a great meet!

Sorry Mike I didn't mean to ignore your question about the water shots. There isn't any spots I'm aware of that you can actually be right on the shore, but I'm sure you'll be able to see the lake in the background of your photo. Who knows, maybe we can find a way to do it. I've never really tried to get right at the waters edge before from the part of the lake that I go to. There might be an area on the other side of the lake that has accessible shoreline.
