My work schedule is crazy now and I work 55-60 hours a week, but I will do everything in my power to attend meets because I want them to happen! Maybe some will object to this idea, but perhaps we should join forces with another club. Recruitment hasn't been going too well, and I'm not sure why. I've spread fliers across Northeastern, listed our website on my dorm door (which was plagued with car pictures and people always stopped to look at it), and I don't think I've gained a single member.

Someone should go through our members list and e-mail everyone when there is an event or if something is posted on here that is significant. We got a lot of members who just need a reason to return to the site. Find something that interests them, and they'll come back to stay. Any ideas?

::sigh:: I give up. This is going nowhere. why...a couple of people have said in this thread that they'd be up for a meet. As I've said before..I'm going to the Museum of Transportation shows on the (checks callendar) July 2 nd,and 20 th I'm also on vacation, and lounging around untill the 11th, so I'd be up for any meets then..(preferably ones that involve staying cool, (swiming, ice cream, being in a place with plenty of a/c, etc...)..pick an idea..and chances are, we'll go with it.

I've said it before...and it usually stands true....I'm up for pretty much anything.
Oh...and Jackal...doesn't Delhux already send out big mass e-mails to everyone on the member's list everytime there's a meet? I've gotten one for both official meets.

The emails are sent to the address you've provided in the forum profile. The emails are sent out when something is happening and they DO bring in members that haven't checked-in in a while. Arsenal79, Pete200GT, and others came back to the forums when the alert to another meet went out. In any respect this is still a fledgling club. This is still our first real seaason of operation and to have nearly fifty members in our first season really isn't bad at all. They all don't check the site or attend the meets, but this is why I want to generate content for the site. We all want the same ends--an excellent club with a great roster and plenty of activity. But we have to have something to offer, in the form of web content. So, if you get a new mod/upgrade, attend an auto-related event, have a unique perspective on the current state of anything "car", or just have an opinion that needs a medium write a short (or long and rambling) review/article on the subject at hand and send it in. It WILL be added to the site. When others visit our club site and see the activity, productivity, and community of our organization they won't be able to help but respect it and want to join. I know when I see a club that seems to provide a great deal of content and useful user-information, I respect the work and quality of community that has generated that interest and made it possible. We can do likewise, but I do need assistance in the form of member-generated content. (should I be sending out homework assignments? ) In any event we are now OFFICIALLY discussing the topic of NEXT MEET. We will have a meet in July. Sometime between the 21st and 28th is best for me, but this may feel a little late for others. We could certainly do a meet early in the month. Alternatively, we could have a modest get-together and mini-event in the early-half of July and then schedule something really neat for the latter-half. What do you guys think? Group excursion?

I've already given my $.02 re: the importance of content vs. community
and the next to last week of July is horrible for me. For a couple of days, I've gotta sit around and act stuffy with a bunch of old people at my grandparrents 60th wedding aniversery.
