Yes, the new rims are excellent. How do ou like the feel of the wider tires?
I am trying to decide what tire size to get for my new 17x9 rims. What was/were the deciding factor(s) for you in going with the 275/40/17's?

What was/were the deciding factor(s) for you in going with the 275/40/17's? What convinced me on the 275's on was that fact that I have driven a couple of stangs with 95R wheels with 275's and the car handled awesome. Dont worry about the car following to ruts/grooves in the road with these wide tires. All I did was have the car alinged to compensate for the tires. I love the wheel/tire combo and I am glad I did what I did. BTW Even with the 275's on all four corners and the 4.10's I still can easily bark third hard. Delhux- I was reading a post over on the corral and I see you are going on the stampeed to M.U. Show. You better have those wheel/tire for the run. 8)

I just now placed my order for a set of Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 275/40/17 tires. My new Cobra R rims should arrive tomorrow. All I need now is a place to mount and balance the set and install them for me. I suspect I'll want to get a new alignment done and reset my speedo so it'll display an accurate speed.

When you change your tire and rim size, is it necessary to have an alignment done? When I had my 17" put on, all I did was have the tires all mounted and balanced.

The speedo seems fine, btw. Maybe it's off by like 1mph, but no more than that. Whenever I see those police speed recorders on the road, they say the same thing my gauge says.

The speedo will change anytime you change the diameter of your wheel, how much the diameter has changed by will affect the speedo accuracy. I think with my new wheels, w/o calibration, my speedo will say something around 58-58.5MPH when I'm traveling at 60MPH.
As far as the alignement, I'm not sure it's necesary, but I think I'll have one done.
