First some basics from the July ish of Motor Trend."A sneak peek picture of Ford's next-generation 'heritage' Mustang displayed at a Ford party at the New York Auto Show revealed a front end heavily influenced by the '68 Mustang. It had regular headlamps outside the grille and foglamps inside of it, with a traditional Mustang badge in the center, much like a '68 GT (pictured). Ford says its new pony will have a number of different front-end/lighting treatments, depending on the trim level. The car won't be ready for a fall 2003 intro as an '04 model, as originally planned. Instead, look for it in spring 2004--in time for the model's 40th anniversary--as an '05." Now, the crazy shit that makes me wet myself:Wow, huh? I may be switching to a Mini Cooper in a year, but I'll always love Mustangs. Check here for all the info: autothing.com/funthings/funthings-futuremustang2004.htm

Does nobody care, or is it just no one looks at the boards anymore?

well, I've seen that picture before, and the production model obviously won't have that much of a chop, and 20" wheels...plus it's 2 years away from intoduction.
and yes, nobody reads this board anymore..after all the talk about our lack of activity, nobody (except you) had something to say about my poll for another meet.

I honestly think it looks like ass. Not the same team that redesigned the new T-Bird apparently. They're not going to make the car less aerodynamic, I'm sure the other picture that was posted (of the orange 'Stang) is what you'll eventually see.
Jackal, didn't I send you pics of the spy photos of the new Mustang with the 'new' Cougaresque bodyshape?

Yes, and those were enhanced photos, not a real car.

I kinda dig the new look of that concept...I've always loved the older mustangs and maybe mixing it with newer body styling will make a new dream car for me....

It's almost funny how badly Ford is trying to cash in on retro design. Once completed I'm sure the new Mustang will look nice, but how about Ford's Forty-Nine concept, the Thunderbird, and the "special edition" Mustangs like last year's Bullitt and next year's Mach 1.
What? Wait, you mean car manufacturers make cars to make money? Ohhhh. ;D

The whole SN95 series was just a redo of the original Mustang. Those sold like a mutha fucka,so I guess they are going what has precedent for working. I don't really care for any Mustang made between 1970 and 1993; but what the hell, maybe it'll look good.

At least there designing a car that looks good. Honestly, does a Nissan Altima or a Suzuki car catch your eye on the highway? Or does a Viper or T-Bird?

From what I've heard, everyone dislikes the rims. Well, remember it's only in pre-prototype stage right now. Check this out though. This is a custom stang someone built. It looks very similiar to the 2005 concept, doesn't it? Modernize those headlights, and I think we're close to a winner! I don't have a back shot, but I sooo betcha it looks like an oldie with a stang badge in the middle.
